Akeso expands its service area in California to continue scale growth and provide top quality occupational health care that focus on patient outcomes
(Irvine, California – July 27, 2021) – Akeso Medical Holdings, a leader in occupational medicine practice management, today announced it has completed its acquisition of South Coast Medical Clinic, located in the heart of San Diego. With the acquisition, Akeso will be able to expand the footprint into San Diego county.
“The practice has been providing local employers with the highest level of services for decades, and we look forward to working with the team of providers and staff at South Coast Medical Clinic to support the local community through additional growth and services,” said Chuck Kruger, CEO of Akeso.
This marks the fourth major acquisition in the last twelve months for Akeso, which now has seven clinics throughout the state of California.
Akeso brings together the highest-performing occupational health physicians to build a real-market alternative for payors and employers as the market for occupational medicine rapidly expands.
Founded in 1981, South Coast Medical Clinic was created for the industrial/service community to provide quality occupational medicine, including work injury care, physical therapy, drug testing, DOT physical exams and pre-placement exams. Open seven days a week, the clinic features on-site digital XRays to get employees back to work quickly and safely.
“Akeso matches our dedication to providing easily accessible, professional, and personalized medical care for companies and workers. Our new partnership will serve to enhance these priorities with added systems integration and collaboration by joining a network of like-minded occupational medicine clinics," said Andrew Saleh, MD, MPH, the Medical Director at South Coast Medical Clinic.
“By combining our strengths, we will be able to reinfornce Akeso’s commitment to advancing the delivery of quality health care services to set new standards for occupational health care,” said Kunal Kain, Akeso Medical Holdings’ Board Chairman.
